About Me

Hello and a very warm welcome to the Bright Wings Spiritual Direction website. My name is Fran Lloyd and I live in Hampshire, England. As you may already have gathered, I have a love of English Literature, Poetry and Writing. I enjoy walking in nature and find being in nature a very easy place to connect with the God of creation. I especially love the sea, trees, water and mountains.

I have been married to Jonathan for over 40 years and we have grown-up children and seven delightful grandchildren. Together Jonathan and I have many years' experience of offering pastoral care in church communities, having planted churches and served in leadership in a number of church settings. We currently serve at Hope Church Winchester, where we carry pastoral responsibility, growing and establishing a pastoral team, nurturing others with a pastoral gifting, offering healing prayer and walking beside individuals in times of crisis, transition, grief, or illness.

My desire is to see people grow into all God intended them to be. One way in which I love to do this is by walking with people one-to-one, offering spiritual mentoring or something called spiritual direction (see WHAT IS SPIRITUAL DIRECTION), accompanying folks on their spiritual journeys of exploration towards spiritual transformation.

I love to listen to people’s stories, sensing the movement of the Spirit of God in their lives and looking for ways to strengthen and encourage their personal experience of God, and the ways He encounters them and communicates with them. I completed my training as a spiritual director with Sustainable Faith School of Spiritual Direction in May 2023 and it is a privilege and joy to share ways of nurturing the tender grace of God’s ‘brooding’, ‘hovering’ presence in these everyday experiences and encounters.
